Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have executed two separate warrants in Romford and Hammersmith this morning (Thursday, 28 January) as part of the ongoing operation into prosecuting those using EncroChat devices to commit crimes. [A] A 34-year-old man was arrested at an address on Greenside Road, W12 and [B] a 34-year-old man was arrested at an address on St Clements Avenue, Romford. [A] was arrested for conspiracy to supply class A drugs and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life under Operation Shallow - an investigation into an organised crime group (OCG) involved in the distribution of cocaine and firearms. [B] was arrested for conspiracy to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. Both men have been taken into custody at London police stations. [C] A female – no further details – was also arrested at the address on Greenside Road for conspiracy to supply class A drugs – she remains in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Driss Hayoukane, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:“Over the past few months, law enforcement officials across the country have been working with the National Crime Agency to dismantle Organised Criminal Networks that are smuggling drugs and lethal weapons into the UK. “These arrests today in London are vital part in our relentless drive to reduce violent crime and stop the supply of drugs and weapons happening in the Capital.” Two men charged following EncroChat warrants in Romford and HammersmithDetectives have charged two people following separate warrants in Romford and Hammersmith on Thursday, 28 January as part of the ongoing operation into prosecuting those using EncroChat devices to commit crimes. [A] Kehinde Mensah, 34 (18.04.86), of Greenside Road, W12 was charged on Friday, 29 January with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine), possession of Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine) with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 January. [B] Joel Thompson, 34 (18.04.86), of Clements Avenue, Romford, was charged on Friday, 29 January with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin), conspiracy to possess criminal property, possession of a Class A drug (MDMA) and two counts of possession of a Class B drug (cannabis). He will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 January. **A 33 year old woman arrested in Hammersmith on Thursday, 28 January was released under investigation. |
